Maxis and RIM Launch the BlackBerry Bold Smartphone in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia– Maxis Communications Berhad (“Maxis”) and Research In Motion (RIM) today announced that the new BlackBerry® Bold™ smartphone is scheduled to be available nationwide in late September.
The BlackBerry Bold smartphone is the first BlackBerry® smartphone to support tri-band HSDPA high-speed networks around the world and comes with top of the line multimedia and communications features, providing customers with a world class mobile experience. The smartphone includes GPS and Wi-Fi®, a sophisticated new interface, a stunning display and a newly designed QWERTY keyboard.

The BlackBerry Bold smartphone comes with a half VGA (480x320 resolution at 217 ppi) colour LCD display and an advanced media player that can display pictures and slideshows quickly and play movies smoothly in full screen mode. The BlackBerry Bold smartphone also comes with a newly enhanced high performance browser, making it easy to navigate the web on the go.

For even greater mobile productivity, the DataViz® Documents to Go® software suite has been preloaded on the BlackBerry Bold smartphone, allowing users to edit Microsoft® Word, Excel and PowerPoint files.
The BlackBerry Bold smartphone also provides rich multimedia functionality, with features including a 2-megapixel camera with digital zoom and video recording, a powerful media player for watching videos, viewing photos and listening to music and easy synchronization with iTunes® digital music collections using the new BlackBerry® Media Sync application*.
